Summer 2020
I started baking when I was 6. My older cousin taught me when I was young, and its one of the first memories I have. Together, we would make oatmeal chocolate chip cookies at every sleepover, and it soon became a summer tradition of ours.
My family and friends became fond of my baking. As I progressed, I also started to document what I was making, incorporating my skills in design, photography, and editing. I quickly learned the importance of good lighting and began to schedule my baking times in the morning. During the pandemic, baking kept me busy. I shared a lot of my work on my instagram (as seen below), allowing me to connect with close friends and family when I couldn't see them. Some of my favourite things to bake are my cheesecake with homemade triple berry jam, croissants, and cinnamon rolls. My best work is the frog cake, inspired by the trending frog cake on TikTok in 2020, but with my own take. To me, baking is more than indulging in my cravings, it's a chance to be creative.
